Manuka honey is made from the nectar of the New Zealand manuka bush. It has been traditionally valued by the Māori for centuries. A special feature is the methylglyoxal (MGO) content, which is significantly higher in Manuka honey than in other types of honey – 300 mg/kg in this product. The MGO value is used for product-specific classification within the Manuka category; any further claims about efficacy are not legally permissible for honey and are deliberately not made here.
